We don’t charge you for coming out, and we don’t publish a price list, because two jobs are rarely the same. Send us a photo of the lock instead, and you’ll know what the job costs before anyone gets in the van.
How it works
Send us a photo
Take a picture of the lock, or of the door edge if it's a UPVC door, and send it by WhatsApp or text with your postcode. For car keys, tell us the make, model and year.
We quote before we set off
We work out what the job needs and tell you the price. You decide whether to go ahead. Ringing us, sending photos and getting a quote costs nothing.
We confirm it when we arrive
If the lock is what the photo showed, the quote stands. If it isn't, you get the revised price before we touch anything — and if you'd rather not go ahead, you pay only a minimum labour charge, worked out from how far we travelled to you. There's no fixed figure because the distance differs every time.
You pay when it's done
Once the job is finished and you're happy with it. Every quote includes VAT, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay.
Why we don't publish a price list
Two lockouts are rarely the same job. One takes ten minutes with a pick. The next has a snapped key jammed in a seized lock on a door that has dropped on its hinges. A single advertised price would either overcharge the first customer or turn into a much bigger bill for the second once the door was open.
A photo tells us most of what we need to know. So we’d rather look at your lock and give you a real figure than quote a low headline price and argue about it later.
What a quote includes
Labour and VAT, and any parts the job needs. Where there’s a choice of parts, such as a standard cylinder or an anti-snap one, we tell you the difference so you can choose.
Your right to change your mind
When you book over the phone or online, the law gives you 14 days to cancel. Most people who ring a locksmith want the work done now rather than in a fortnight, so before we start we’ll ask you to confirm that you want us to begin straight away. If you then cancel, you pay only for the work already done.
